Sagamore Pendry Hotel

Baltimore, MD

Originally a dance hall and once a social and educational hub for early 20th century Baltimore immigrants, the Fells Point Recreation Pier in Baltimore City has a rich place in Baltimore's history. Built in 1914, it once housed the harbormaster's office. BHC developed plans to convert this historic structure into a 128 room hotel. The original head house will be the hotel entrance containing the main lobby and bar on the ground level, with office space on the upper level. Three levels of guestrooms wrap around the existing pier with 60% of the rooms having views onto the harbor while the others look over an interior landscaped courtyard. The hotel has been opened as the Sagamore Pendry in 2014.

Pepita Cantina

Arlington, VA

The restaurant will serve dishes like ceviche, salads, tacos and enchiladas, and it has the decor to match. Inspired by coastal Mexican cantinas, the dining room is full of natural light. One wall has a large yellow and light green marigold motif. It seats 32 diners at light wood tables with green banquettes and yellow chairs, but the partially-covered patio will provide additional seating for 44.

The concrete bar adorned in patterned tiles will also play a central role in the restaurant. There will be an emphasis on tequila and mezcal. It will carry an extensive list of fresh squeezed juices, at least four margaritas and a few frozen drinks.
